As a leader, you need professional learning that specifically supports you and the important work that you do. Whether you are a principal or vice-principal, a department head, a curriculum coordinator, a superintendent, a director, or any other school or system leader, having a deep understanding of assessment in the service of learning is important.
Enrollment: $39 for 1 year of access.
This particular course focuses on Leadership in Assessment and is based on our longitudinal research study (Davies et al., 2014). Its findings were clear. There were three actions that successful leaders employ:
- Leaders must take action and move beyond words to deeds.
- Leaders evaluate what they value and move beyond numbers to include triangulated evidence of learning.
- Leaders find ways to collect ongoing information and use frequent feedback loops.
In this course, we:
- summarize research findings,
- detail the actions that research shows will support instructional leaders to make a difference, and
- give examples of this work in action with today’s leaders.
